Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: December 2025
Welcome to Hampton Genetics Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of our genetic testing products and services, including Hampton A (Screening) and Hampton B (Diagnostic), as well as our website and counseling services.
By purchasing a test kit or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Services
Hampton Genetics Ltd provides genetic testing services utilizing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Whole Exome Screening (WES) technology. Our services generally consist of:
- Hampton A: A genetic screening product designed for health insights, carrier screening, or nutraceutical guidance.
- Hampton B: A diagnostic product intended for individuals (adults or children) with suspected inherited conditions.
- Genetic Counseling: Professional guidance provided to help interpret your results.
2. Sample Collection and Processing
2.1 At-Home Collection
If you utilize our at-home sample collection service, you are responsible for:
- Following the provided instructions for saliva or blood collection precisely.
- Registering your kit ID online before mailing it back.
- Ensuring the sample is mailed back promptly to prevent degradation.
If a sample fails analysis due to insufficient volume or quality (often caused by user error), we will offer one replacement kit free of charge. Subsequent replacements may incur a fee.
2.2 Laboratory Processing
You acknowledge that your sample may be processed by our partner laboratories (such as Igenomix or similar certified facilities) to ensure the highest quality of sequencing. By submitting a sample, you consent to this transfer of biological material.
3. Limitations of Genetic Testing
While we use "Gold Standard" NGS technology covering approximately 50,000 variants, genetic testing has inherent limitations:
- Variants of Unknown Significance (VUS): We may identify genetic variations whose impact on health is currently unknown. While we use AI to predict these effects, these predictions are not guarantees.
- Scope: Our tests sequence the exome (the coding region of DNA). Genetic conditions caused by mutations outside the exome (introns/regulatory regions) may not be detected.
- Rare Conditions: While we test for a vast number of conditions, it is impossible to test for every known genetic disease. A negative result does not rule out all genetic conditions.
4. Pricing and Payments
Prices for our services are displayed on our website at the time of purchase. Given the high complexity of Whole Exome Sequencing, our pricing reflects the advanced technology and expert analysis required.
- Refunds: You may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase if the kit has not been used or registered.
- Processing Start: Once a sample is received by our laboratory, the service is considered "in progress," and no refunds can be issued.
5. Privacy and Data Security
Your privacy is paramount. Our use of your personal and genetic data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our service, you acknowledge that:
- Your genetic data is de-identified before being analyzed by our algorithms or lab partners.
- You retain ownership of your DNA; we act as the custodian of the data.
6. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hampton Genetics Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hampton Genetics Ltd is incorporated. Any disputes regarding these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
