Refund and Return Policy

At Hampton Genetics Ltd, we strive to provide the highest quality genetic screening and diagnostic services. We understand that circumstances may change, and this policy outlines the conditions under which refunds and returns are accepted for our products, including Hampton A and Hampton B.
1. Cancellation Before Sample Processing
You may cancel your order and request a refund subject to the following conditions:
1.1 Unused Kits (Within 30 Days)
If you have purchased a test kit but have not yet used it or registered it, you may request a refund within 30 days of the purchase date. To be eligible:
- The request must be made via our customer support team.
- The refund will be the purchase price minus a shipping and handling fee (typically $25 USD) to cover the cost of the kit materials and logistics.
- Unused kits do not need to be returned to us; however, the unique barcode associated with the kit will be invalidated in our system.
1.2 Defective or Damaged Kits
If your kit arrives damaged or is missing components, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will ship a replacement kit immediately at no additional cost to you.
2. Non-Refundable Circumstances
Due to the significant costs associated with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and laboratory workflows, we cannot offer refunds once your sample has been received by our laboratory.
Refunds are not available in the following situations:
- Lab Receipt: Once your saliva or blood sample arrives at our processing facility (or partner laboratories such as Igenomix), the scientific process begins immediately.
- Inconclusive Results: While rare, some samples may fail to generate data due to biological factors (see Section 3 below). A failure to generate a result does not automatically entitle you to a monetary refund.
- Result Content: We do not refund based on the outcome of the test (e.g., if no specific genetic conditions are found, or if only Variants of Unknown Significance are identified).
3. Sample Failure and Replacement Policy
Genetics is a complex biological process. Occasionally, a sample may not yield enough high-quality DNA for Whole Exome Sequencing.
- First Failure: If your first sample fails analysis, Hampton Genetics Ltd will provide one (1) replacement kit free of charge so you can provide a new sample.
- Second Failure: If the second sample also fails, it is likely due to biological factors unique to the individual. In this rare case, we may offer a partial refund (excluding shipping and lab setup costs) at our sole discretion, and we will cease further testing attempts.
4. Genetic Counseling Cancellations
If your purchase includes a scheduled session with a genetic counselor:
- Rescheduling: You may reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment without penalty.
- No-Shows/Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, or failure to attend the appointment, will result in the forfeiture of the counseling fee.

To initiate a return or refund request, please email our support team at support@hamptongenetics.com with your Order Number and Kit Barcode ID.
